A collection of letters and notes (inventories with apprasial values). Many of the letters are to Marion Vaillant, regarding her selling and giving away possessions of Louis D. Vaillant (her uncle). Notes that innventory these items (and their appraised value) are with the letters. It also includes a letter to Alice Clapp Vaillant, thank you letters to Marion Vaillant for her donation to the British War Relief Society, a convent, the National Orchestral Association, a card written to Marion from her niece Joanna, and a letter written in 1976 to Marion Vaillant from a friend in Boston. There is an article on UFOs that was sent along with the 1976 letter (in which the article is referenced) as well. Another set of letters and cards are from the Settle side of the family (Joanna Vaillant Settle, who was Marion Vaillant's niece). Many of the letters are from the 1979, and one of the letters talks about a minor race riot at his school in San Fransisco in 1979.
