A collection of documents relating to the environment in Washington, CT. It includes: a 1978 letter from the US Department of the Interior Heritage Conservation and Recreation Service regarding a conservation program for the Shepaug and Bantam Rivers; the summary report for the "Draft Shepaug Wild & Scenic River Study" from 1976; a copy of a 1972 ecological survey of certain sites in Steep Rock Reservation which includes land use recommendations; a 1925 indenture where Ehrick K. Rossiter, Adrian van Sinderen, and others agree to take initiatives to preserve steep rock (it contains George W. Vaillant and Rossiter's signature); "The Town of Washington" booklets, one is a "1963 report" another is a 1960 report. They both address the issue of the Shepaug River flooding in 1955.
