1. 1994.2.3 - Button

   Late 1700s large button, scalloped edge, small central circle with 8 rays & eight squiggly lines radiating out from it. 2 - color - copper/ brass - flat surface except for design. The donor, a math teacher at The Gunnery, and amateur archeologist, found this button in the excavation site for the new driveway behind the Gunn Museum during the summer of 1993. The site, over the brow of the hill, was used as the house's dump.

   Quarter-inch by one-inch rectangular blue enameled lapel pin. Raised brass lettering: "HOOVER." From the 31st U.S. president's 1928, or 1932, presidential election campaign.
