    Oriental ornament of some kind of metal, silver? A Oriental lantern hangs from a 7" chain. The lantern has writing on 2 sides, an painted flower on a third and a circular cut out window with a turqoise painted dot above and below. An abstract whale sits on top of the lantern with blue paint on the fin and tail. Hanging from the lantern on three 2.75" chains are 3 fishing harpoons(?).

    Square wood box with elaborate inlaid design. Colors in the design include: brown, dark brown, cream, red, green, and gold. Middle Eastern style. Along the edges of the box, are compartments of matches (one per side) with a red pull-string to remove the compartments (old matches are in the compartments).

    A pair of Arabian-style shoes.Tan leather with elaborate light pink and gold stitch work at the instep of the shoe. Top of shoe around the ankle is edged with red leather. The shoes collar at the top forms into a point that goes up to the top of the ankle, classic of Arabian oriental style. The tips of the shoe curves up to a curl, also classic of the Arabian oriental style. The insole is red and purple leather. Possibly worn by Louis Vaillant.

  7. G 085 - Plate, Dessert

    Small plate, black on white. Decorated in the center with a river scene: columns, steps into water, ships and around the flattened edge with flowering branches and a diamond diaper border. Molded rim and scalloped edge. Mark underneath: winged lion on stick with banner reading "Oriental Scenery" (similar to Rockingham mark but wing different - see catalogue card).
