Photograph of the damage to State Route 25 (now Route 202) in Woodville, four miles north of Washington Depot, after the Flood of 1955. The road was built on a 60 foot earth embankment covering two culverts that were too small to allow the flood waters of the Shepaug River to pass. Note: The foundation of this building, which was made of marble, still exists in the woods between Rt. 202 and Wheaton Road.
