   Brass skimmer with a black metal handle which has a hole at the end of the handle for hanging. Note: Skimmers usually made by blacksmith but unlike other hardware pieces, skimmer handles were usually "draw" filed to a smoother finish therefore originally appeared as silvery and bright not dark metal. - Doug Schlicher
