The back of the photograph has "Emily Spackman in original garden before the treillis - 1920's?" written in pencil. Note: Emily Spackman was good friends with Ethel Nathalie (Smith) Dana, wife of the architect of the house.

Woman's black wool side saddle apron with front top metal closure, 4 buttons and a fifth button securing the front flap of the apron. Front flap is lined with black denim. A 13" elastic hoop hangs from a hole in the denim. The right hip and back is lined with a black material. A 2.2" white cotton ribbon hangs from the left side. Five cross stitches in beige thread are present at rear top. Opening for legs on right.

White marble tombstone, possible made in Marbledale, engraved: "Lora/ Wife of John Gunn/ Died June 14, 1841/ AE 40". This gravestone was unearthed in 2008 in the basement of 4 Blackville Road in Washington, Connecticut during renovations to the home.
