Description |
An identification armband insignia used by a civilian ground observer spotting airplanes on the homefront in the U.S. Air Defense System, made of royal blue felt with a white circle emblem in the center with a pair of gold colored wings. Emblem reads: "U.S. Army - AWS (Aircraft Warning Service) - Air Force". Title of "Observer" is in gold at the bottom. Probably used during the World War Two WWII (1939-1945), Korean War (1950-1953), or Cold War (1947 – 1991) era? |
