Postcard of Lake Waramaug from the Loomarwick Inn on West Shore Road at Lake Waramaug in New Preston, CT. This northern view shows people gathered around a tennis court in between the road and the lake with numerous trees and a vintage looking car is parked along the road. Printed on the back of the card: Published by The Loomarwick. This color used postcard has a postmark of 7am, August 15, 1921, New Preston, Conn. The postcard is addressed to: "Mrs. G.A. Hoyt, New Canaan, Conn, Route 32.", with this message written in ink: "Lake Waramaug, Aug. 14. Dear Aunt Alice, We are here again at this beautiful place and am so glad to be here. We are feeling much better than when we came. It is so restful and quiet first the kind of a change that does one good. Hope we can remain until after Labor Day. Have just had some loud thunder showers, but sun is shining now, Take meals at the hotel. Write to me here, address Lake Waramaug, New Preston, Conn. With love, M." |
