Description |
Metal coffee can, with lid from a general store owned by William and Roberts Watts and Thorton Cogswell in Washington Depot, Connecticut. The can has a white paper liner around its cylindrical shape. Printed on the liner in red: "WATTS & COGSWELL". Below this printed in blue: "PERFECT COFFEE/ GUARANTEED PERFECT IN PURITY, FLAVOR AND STRENGTH./ WASHINGTON DEPOT, CONN. In red small print on the front: "A Combination of the Finest Grades of Pure Coffee put Up Directly from the Roaster in Air-tight Cans./ We invite Comparison with other Advertised Brands of Coffee. Etched in Blue on the reverse: "2 LBS. 2 LBS. / FULL WEIGHT FULL WEIGHT". The white liner is bordered at the top and bottom with a blue linear wave design. |
