Description |
Female peasant yarn doll in Native costume. Yarn head, white, with embroidered facial features, painted red cheeks. brown yarn hair covered by a floral scarf in colors of red, pink, green, and gold with a red yarn trim in the front, gold ring earrings. Balanced on her head is a reed basket filled with colorful yarn fruit and vegetables. Around her neck is a gold beaded necklace and five gold strands. Arms and hands are white yarn, the left bent and resting on her hip, the right holding the basket on her head, blue embroidery at the shoulders. The body is hard & wrapped in white yarn, wearing a pink print shirt over a red yarn skirt trimmed at the bottom with black felt. The black trim is embroidered in white. Six black and white yarn stripes run down the skirt. The skirt is lined in white with a lace trim. Under the skirt she is wearing short white pantaloons with lace trim, ecru stockings with pink ties beneath the knees and black leather shoes. Tied around the waist is a red yarn apron embroidered with flowers in colors of pink white, blue, an yellow ith green leaves and a yellow cross-stitch border. Hanging from her waist is a small pouch with sequin and pink green, and black embroidery. |
