Description |
White, 2-handled, oval soup tureen (a) and cover (b). Footed tureen is plain, the cover with a large unopened flower-head finial (finial with numerous scale-like petals resembling an artichoke), and thistle-like leaves in relief around the base of the finial. There is an opening in the cover for a ladle (ladle missing?). Mark impressed on the inside rim of the foot: FLORENCE/J.W.P. Similiar to G 102a-c, except G 102a-c has an additional design consisting of repeated and symmetrical lines within a border (Key Fret motif?). |
