Description |
Female doll from MIlan, Italy in Native costume. Peasant woman with hard composite body, felt - covered arms, a molded and painted face with brown brow, bright blue side glancing eyes and long lashes, protruding small nose, andsmallpink and red closed mouth. Artificial silk thread hair, dirty blond, that is wound into a tight braid and bun at the back. She also has a silver headpiece made of beads and a large black bow; this is worn at the back of the head. She is wearing a light blue felt skirt and jacket. The bottom of the skirt is trimmed with two rows of pink felt edging. Thebody of the skirt is decorated with pink felt flowers and green leaves. She has a long white cotton apron with lace trim tied at the waist with a white satin ribbon. The jacket has the same pink felt trim as the skirt - around the sleeves and around the neck, and is also trimmed with the same felt flowers. She wears a white shawl ober her shoulders matching the apron. Under the jacket is a white blouse with a wide collar and lace trim. She has a white cotton petticoat and pantiloons, and black felt shoes with black ribbon bows. There is a string of gold beads at the neck, and earrings made of the same gold beads. She is holding a large pink felt flower in her left hand.
