Description |
Small white, 2- handled, oval sauce tureen (a), cover (b) and ladle (c). Footed tureen and cover decorated with the Key Fret motif. The cover with an unopened flower head finial (finial with numerous scale-like petals resembling an artichoke and thistle-like leaves in relief around the base of the finial. There is an opening in the cover for the ladle. Ladle is plain, with a shallow bowl, stem terminating in the form of an ivy leaf. (ladle does not match tureen and is marked on the back of the bowl: IIMPERIAL/FRENCH PORCELAIN/W ADAMS. Tureen similar to G 101ab, except G 101ab does not have Key Fret border. |
