Handwriting at the bottom of the photograph reads, "Betsey Averill aged 103 yrs. 5 mos. 13 days." Has a thin gold boarder around the photo and the very edges of the card is thinly lined with gold.

Wooden food storage box used for the storage and distribution of codfish. On the side of the box it reads"6 LBS PURE BONELESS GEORGES CODFISH PUT UP EXPRESSLY FOR FAMILY USE." Box is missing the top lid which would have more information. Lid would slide on via gooves at top of the side of the box. Cod would likely have been packaged with salt to preserve the fish.
