1992.37.1 - Box, Pipe

Pipe box made by Washington, CT artist Herbert Faulkner. It is a small cupboard with two brackets for hanging on wall, top shelf with arched back piece carved with a spray of 5 flowers with stems, carved door with four butterflies in square, hanging metal door pull, two shelves inside, a shelf is underneath to support five pipes, and the back is lined with gold paper.

1995.19.1 - Negative, Glass Plate

A wood box (cherry or balsam) containing 47 glass slides. There are slots along each side to keep the slides still when being moved or from being scratched. There is a leather handle on the top and a small hook that catches under a small screw to close the lid. There are two small metal hinges on either side in the back to join top and bottom. A. Fan - The body is mesh with palm tree pattern in dark brown fabric with sequins. Gold swirls through pattern and edging. The "spines" at the base have a complimentary design on each. 2004.10.13 - Box

A black box containing: 4 large and 3 medium paper tags, 20 corks all ranging in various sizes, 2 rubber stoppers, 2 glass stoppers, a small box of gummed labels, 18 small pads of strips of litmus paper. Inside the box on the top lid it reads, "Dennison's Handy Box for the Office and Household". On the outside a hand written label reads, "Corks Tags Weights Litmus Paper". Probably used by Dr. Frederic Wersebe.

2004.10.28 - Box

An empty Robert Burns Panatela de Luxe cigar wood box (for 50 cigars and made of wood). The inside is lined with paper and so are the edges of the outside of the box. It has a tax paid stamp on the top, and the bottom indicates that it was produced in "Factory No. 4 District State of Michigan". The inside of the box reads, "10 Cents All Havana Filler" and "Robert Burns Segars General Cigar Co, Inc. Panatela de Luxe".

2004.10.31 - Box, Money

A dark metal money box. The inside has separated compartments for bills and for coins. The inside of the top lid has a sticker that reads, "Miss Helen Wersebe Washington, Conn. 06793". Wersebe is also written on one of the sides with marker. She may have used it for one of the societies of which she was apart.

Wooden German cigarette box with "Bittesehr" etched into the lid. Paper stamp on the front side "das Stucke". The box has two metal hinges. The inside of the box used to contain medals, patches, and pins.

Wooden fruit basket which was from the "Just-A-Mere Fruit Farm" from New Preston, Conn. "Just-A-Mere Fruit Farm New Preston, Conn" is stamped on the two long sides of the basket. Basket is made from four separate pieces of wood. The basket part is made from two overlapping "C" shaped pieces of wood. 2014.9.22a - Box, Needlework

Round wooden box with u shaped handle attached with wooden pins to top of box. Light brown in color. Binding of box lid has three small nails attaching trim to lid. Multiple scratches on lid. Wood grain prominent on outside of box and lid. Large stain on inside of lid. Inside of box has a line of small nails holding very thin piece of wood together in circle forming the box.

A paper box of matches made by the Washington Match Company which was located in the vicinity of 18-20 Titus Road in Washington Depot, Connecticut. Metal hinged box to transport eggs. Top states "Fragile" and "Eggs". Front of box states "2 Doz Eggs". Both sides of box say "eggs" and back of box says "original". All lettering in capital letters. Bottom of box has indented squares. Top of box has two openings, one for address and one for stamps.
