Description |
A wood box (cherry or balsam) containing 47 glass slides. There are slots along each side to keep the slides still when being moved or from being scratched. There is a leather handle on the top and a small hook that catches under a small screw to close the lid. There are two small metal hinges on either side in the back to join top and bottom. There are wooden joins on all four corners. The box was made by G. Gennert Co. New York. The glass slides include flowers specimens, scenes of London, and other things. There are a few slides of men who may or may not be Washington residents. An itemized inventory of the slides is attached to this catalog record. |
